Hello!!!!
In case you didn't see, WE HIT OUR GOAL! I've been traveling cross-country and couldn't write a proper update until now, and thanking every one of you has been the number one thing on my mind since we hit this landmark goal, so let me say it, "THANK YOU!!!!"
So what's next?
People often wonder what happens after a campaign hits their goal and there's still "time left on the clock." In our case, we're gonna keep pushing. Like all kickstarter campaigns, in my opinion, it's equally as much about marketing and sharing the story/project with the world, as it is raising the funds to complete it. Thanks to your efforts, almost 25,000 people have seen our trailer and now because of your contributions, we can finish filming, and get the final product in the can!
Additional funds will go into improving the overall film. We have an original soundtrack to produce, all our post audio editing, mixing, and 5.1 surround perfecting, plus motion graphic design. Of course there are legal, insurance, and distribution costs as well. We also know that this is going to be much more of a "festival film" which means we think it will play well to select audiences at events which will in turn help the entire distribution strategy, but every festival you apply to costs about $50, and then there are travel costs to consider to support the film when it's accepted. Needless to say, every dollar still helps in tremendous ways.
We're still aiming for a Mother's Day 2016 release, in some form, so I'll do my best to keep you in the loop and anyone that knows me, knows that I like to over-deliver when it comes to fulfilling rewards, and creating the product, so expect an excellent film and something that says "thank you" from me to you!
